How do teens afford going 'out'?

I find it hard to believe their parents give them money, unless they're rich. I know my mom would make me use my own money if I were to go out. The way I see it, a trip to the mall would cost about $20. The most I could see my mom giving me per week for allowance (I don't even have an allowance right now) is $5, and that would give me enough to go 'out', if I so chose, only once a month, and even then, I would hardly have any money left over ($20 extra a year). But it seems like most teens are going 'out' at least once a week where I live, maybe more. Do their parents really give them the money to do it? I'm a 14 year-old guy by the way.
