What happend? why is he ignorning me??? please help?

so their was this guy was was my friend and the third time we hung out he asked me if i wanted something serious but i never got to answers him bc we got interrupted so we just dropped the subject and with that i had the impression he liked me and he told me he like we like twice. so we continued to hang out and we messed around i also asked him if he was leading me on and he said he wasnt and one of the times we hung out i told him i really liked him but we were going to fast and he was fine with it he would always text me and he would always reply to my text so we continued to hang out but then his friends came from college and we kinda stopped hanging out and he wouldnt really text me but then just recently we hung out and we went to the mall and we messed around and i had a good time since i was gonna go to mexico for a week i told him too bad were not gonna mess around for a whole week but i was just kidding and he was we should totally meet up again then which made feel kinda bad but then when we got to his car i asked him what we were. i asked him this bc when we would go to the mall he would hold my hand and kiss me and we acted like bf and gf so then he told me i dont know how to answer your question and he told me how he wanted to find out who he was and he wanted to get closer to God and that he wasnt using me that he didnt want to be an asshole and i was okay with it i didnt cry or anything so i decided it would be a good time to tell him about my beliefs and i told him i was christian and that i went to church a lot and just stuff like that and he didnt really say much so i asked him if we were still cool n he said yes but then on Wednesday i texted him n no answers. he still talked to me at work but didnt txt me so i went to mexico and came back and since he asked me to bring him something back i did and he asked me at work if i brought him something back and i said yes that i would give him one when i had it but idk what happened i feel like hes ignoring me whenever i text him he only responds something twice and he stops he doesnt txt me anymore i always text him something tells me he might be talking to someone else and its killing me inside bc i like him so much and i dont know why he turned into such dick? why did he change it was just a question i never get mad him im always nice to him. what should i do??? how can i forget about him??? why did he change so much so fast?? and btw i still dont give him his gift and i dont want it n ive been trying to get him to hangout but it doesnt seem like he wants to and why did he make me believe he liked me helpppp plz
